Preparing ourselves for a healthier future and role of G20 in it.

As the famous quote by Benjamin Franklin goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." This statement has never been more relevant than it is today as we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and other health crises around the world. We must ready ourselves for a healthier and safer future, not only for our well-being but also for the well-being of our communities and the world at large.

One of the most effective ways to ready ourselves for a healthier and safer future is by taking care of our bodies. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and cancer are responsible for 7 out of 10 deaths each year in the United States. However, many of these deaths can be prevented by making lifestyle changes such as exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy diet, and quitting smoking. In addition to taking care of our bodies, we must also prioritize mental health. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of mental health as rates of anxiety, depression, and stress have increased globally. According to a recent survey by the American Psychological Association, 44% of Americans reported an increase in stress levels due to the pandemic. It is crucial to prioritize mental health and seek support when needed to prevent long-term mental health issues.

We can also ready ourselves for a healthier and safer future by taking action to protect the environment. Climate change and environmental degradation are significant threats to human health, as they can lead to air pollution, water contamination, and the spread of infectious diseases. According to the WHO, environmental risks such as air pollution and climate change contribute to over 25% of global deaths each year. Taking actions such as reducing our carbon footprint, conserving water, and supporting sustainable practices can help protect the environment and our health. The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of being prepared for health crises and taking preventative measures to protect ourselves and our communities. By taking care of our bodies, prioritizing mental health, and protecting the environment, we can ready ourselves for a healthier and safer future. Remember to wash your hands, wear a mask, and practice social distancing to protect yourself and others. Let us all work together to build a healthier and safer future for ourselves and future generations.

The world is facing multiple health challenges, from non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to pandemics like COVID-19. These challenges are not limited to any one country or region and require global cooperation and coordination to effectively address them. This is where the G20 comes in.The G20 has several initiatives related to health and wellness, including the Health Action Plan 2020 (HAP2020), the Global Health Financing Partnership (GHFP), and the Global Nutrition Monitoring Framework (GNMF). These initiatives have had a significant impact on improving access to healthcare services, reducing malnutrition rates, and promoting sustainable development across the globe.G20 has the power to leverage its collective voice to influence global health policies and priorities. For example, the G20 has been instrumental in shaping policies related to pandemic preparedness and response, which is of critical importance in the wake of COVID-19.

One of the key benefits of the G20 is the sharing of best practices and knowledge between member countries. For example, India has made significant progress in reducing maternal mortality rates and eliminating polio, which other countries can learn from and adapt to their contexts. Similarly, countries like Japan and South Korea have successfully implemented universal healthcare systems, which can serve as models for other countries to follow. In conclusion, the G20 is a crucial forum for promoting global health and wellness. Its initiatives, policies, and collaborative efforts have had a significant impact on improving access to healthcare services, reducing malnutrition rates, and promoting sustainable development. But its true value lies in its ability to bring countries together to share best practices, influence global health policies, and promote a sense of shared responsibility for the health and wellness of the planet.COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of being prepared for health crises and taking preventative measures to protect ourselves and our communities.
